HARTLIP YOUNG WIVES
Two very interesting meetings have been arranged for October, the second one an open one, at which we hope to see many non-members, men and women. On October 4th we have: Muscular Dystrophy Group - a Film and Talk: Miss Christine Swann; and on October 18th: Secondary Education: a talk by Mr. Cyril Pyle. Both meetings to be held in the Village Hall at 7.45 p.m.

CHOIR NOTES
After an interval of several years, a choir outing was held this year on Tuesday, August 9th. A party of nine boys and girls and four adults set out from the church in a minor convoy of cars bound for Broadstairs. The somewhat overcast start to the day had deterred some from bringing their bathings suits - and what a calamity that nearly was! - for the sun shone with almost dazzling brilliance from the time we arrived and, although the tide was out, a heated pool on the cliff-top proved an irresistible attraction. Several of the sandy bays were almost deserted, so we had plenty of space. Rock pools provided opportunities for crab hunting and paddling.
A local restaurant furnished us with an excellent meal in the middle of the afternoon and we concluded our outing with a visit to Margate and the wonders of Dreamland.
Without a doubt one of the best choir outings ever, of which it may be truly said, "A good time was had by all." Our thanks are due to Mrs. James and the Vicar and his wife for providing transport; and, not least, we are most grateful for a generous donation given anonymously towards the cost of the outing.

(Thanks are due as well to Mr. Carey, who also used his car for transport and generally took care of the arrangements. W.N.B.).
HARTLIP W.I.
'Product of the Beehive' was the fascinating subject of Major Gill at our September meeting. We listened intently as he told the story of the wonderful mechanism of the bee and of the healing propentiel of honey.
The W.I. have organised a coach outing to Oxford Street, London, on Thursday October 6th, and we shall be pleased to have any non-members, husbands or friends join us for a shopping trip. The coach will leave the church at 9 a.m. and anyone who is interested in going should ring Mrs. Ferrett on Newington 842345.
