STOCKBURY PARISH COUNCIL

At the last meeting it was reported that the rents for the Charity Lands were paid very promptly. This was appreciated, as it allowed an amount of money to be distributed to some people in the village in time for Christmas.

The Council are very disturbed to learn that dogs mutilated twenty-two sheep recently. This was very upsetting to some people who saw the end result of the carnage, and a considerable loss to the owner of the sheep. Make sure that your dog, if you have one, is kept under proper control at all times. He or she may be very sweet, but could also be a killer.

The District Council seems to be quite apathetic to the caravan problem in the parish. It may be necessary, in due course, for us all to take more positive action.

HALL AND PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE

I hope you were able to read my report in the December magazine - it was a puzzle, but once you got the lines in the right order it made sense! Thank you all for your generous support of our Christmas Raffle, which made aprofit of £24, exactly the same sum as our carol singing brought. The Committee hope to see the field used for sport this year; there is a team interested.
