STOCKBURY PARISH COUNCIL

A skip-bin has been in position behind the Hall and has been well used. The Democratic half-hour is now being used by members of the public as a forum to bring to the Council's notice matters which concern them. Reports of more cars being stolen in the village are being received, so make sure that whenever you leave your car un-attended it is properly locked. The Council wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

HALL AND PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE

The Christmas Fayre was a great success. Seven organisations took part and the result is that they will all receive £14.00 - slightly better than last year.

Unfortunately, the Hall piano has been damaged, the hammers be spent on it because it was getting worn out in any case, and a having been bent and broken. This has also revealed that money must decision has been made to have the work done at a cost of more than £200.00. It is hoped that when the repairs have been done, everyone will take care of it.

Best wishes to all those who use the Hall and Playing Field in 1977.

Committee Member.

MINI YOUTH CLUB

The finances of the club have been dented by the Christmas Party and the trip to the pantomime, so now it will need special efforts to raise money for further events such as our fourth birthday party in February.

STOCKBURY GARDENERS ASSOCIATION

At our November meeting we held a friendly quiz with the Detling Gardeners. It was very entertaining and I am sure that some of us are a little wiser as a result. The Detling team were the winners on this occasion. We are looking forward to our meeting in January - on the 6th - when our speaker will be Miss Pullar, who will talk to us about 'Preserves'.
