SERIES 3 - Where now?

In the last few months you will have read of our explorations into the Series 3 rite of Holy Communion, and now I want to tell you about the latest moves made by the P.C.C.'s of our two parishes. Twice the P.C.C.'s have met together, shared in a celebration of the rite and discussed it at some length. Now the time has come to decide, 'Where now?', and both P.C.C.'s faced that question at their separate meetings shortly before Christmas. At Stockbury, due mainly to illness we had a very badly attended meeting and discussion about the service was deferred until a later meeting when it is hoped that more people will be present to take part. But at Hartlip a decision was made to use Series 3 rite at all services on Sundays for a period of six months, from a date to be decided (probably early February), and then to ask the congregation to express an opinion as to whether we should continue to use it or return to Series 2.
