HALL AND PLAYING FIELDS COMMITTEE

August is Fete and Flower Show month, and I hope that you are going to enter something in the Show and give us your support. The Dog Show arranged by Mr. and Mrs. Trayham will be a major feature, and if you have a dog and wish to enter it in the Show I am sure that you will find a class to put it in. There will be a dance in the evening to round off the day.

Whist Drives are going well on Saturday evenings, but more players are always welcome. So if you play whist come along and have an enjoyable evening, and it will only cost about forty-pence.

MINI YOUTH CLUB

The Club will close for the summer holiday on 22nd July and will re-open on September 9th. Due to costs it was decided not to have an outing this year. The Jubilee Tea was great and was much enjoyed by our members. Many thanks for the generous help which made this possible.

It is hoped to purchase an indoor slide for the children for the winter months. There will he another film evening later and details will be pubished when they are known.

PLAY GROUP

If you are interested in forming a Play Group for children aged three to five years, once or twice a week, please contact Mrs. L. Brooker, telephone number: Newington 843201; or Mr. R. Pearson: Wormshill 275. If there is enough support a meeting will be called to get a group started in the Village Hall.

STOCKBURY GARDENERS' ASSOCIATION

The care of houseplants was the subject of a talk given by Mr. Joy at our July meeting. He also showed us some very interesting slides. Twenty-five members were present. Our August meeting will be at 'Janus' by kind invitation of Bob and Nan Wright, and our September meeting will take the form of a Gardeners' Question Time at the Village Hall time 8 p.m.

Please don't forget the Annual Show and Fete on August 20th at 3 p.m.
