YOUNG WIVES
On the 21st June we had a talk on roses given by Mr. Hull. He gave us some very interesting tips on the growing and general care of roses, and brought along a selection of cuttings to show different species we can obtain. His talk was very comprehensive, and even included a few tips on broad beans!!
Our Annual Summer Dance was held on Saturday, 2nd July. Music was provided by the Barons and it was a very enjoyable evening.
A note for your diaries, our first meeting after the break is on the 20th September, which will be a Cookery Demonstration given by Kakebrand. We hope a11 members will attend, together with any friends who would like to join us, and get the new Season off to a good start.

YOUNG WIVES' DANCE
I would like to express my thanks to all Young Wives who provided such delicious sweet dishes for the Dance; also to all those who helped prepare the food, serve it, sell raffle tickets, clear and wash up; and to Dennis and Marjorie for the decorations.

VANDALISM
In the last few weeks the floodlights outside Hartlip church have been damaged by vandals. One light had its cover completely broken off and this had to be replaced at considerable cost. Then half way through July another of the lights was found to have suffered the same damage and this will have to be repaired at a similar cost to the first one.
Does whoever is responsible ever think what the reaction would be if the same damage were to be done at home? Or what would he (or she?) think if someone came along and deliberately damaged or dest ....(cont.)
