in a Divided World'. There were Bible readings, poems and Responses, all related to the theme, and Sister Edith gave the address, reminding us that we are all ambassadors of Christ. Hearing a hundred women singing 'Thine be the Glory' was enough to stir the hearts of everyone. The amount collected by the women of the Medway Circuit was over £600 and this will be used for the Methodist Church Overseas Division. Everyone enjoyed an excellent tea provided by the Hartlip members, who felt uplifted by the response. Thanks to all our visitors.

HARTLIP YOUNG WIVES

On the 12th April there was an informal meeting at Jean Pyle's home where Members were able to meet and have a chat, and discuss forthcoming events over a cup of coffee. We thank Jean for her hospitality.

Members of the Rainham Young Wives were invited to join us at the hall to be entertained by Mr. Gipson who showed us some very interesting colour slides of Hartlip, Newington and surrounding countryside. I am sure everyone enjoyed it, and it certainly made us more aware of the lovely surroundings in which we live.

Owing to the extra events arranged in celebration of the Queen's Jubilee, there will only be one meeting next month which is a talk on Roses by Mr. Hull, which will be held on 21st June.

On the 3rd May, we spent a very enjoyable evening visiting Bradbury House, in Milton Regis. This is a renovated small Elizabethan house, containing various collections and items of interest. Afterwards Mary Brook very kindly invited us back to the Vicarage for coffee.

We will be holding our Annual Summer Dance on the 2nd July, details of tickets etc, will be out later.

SERVICE

The Church is organising a service to enable pensioners, without cars, to go into Sittingbourne for shopping once a week. If you know of anyone willing to be included in the rota of drivers, please contact the Vicar or Judith Mowll (Tel. Newington 842063).

HARTLIP SUNDAY SCHOOL

Twenty members of the Sunday School and six adults went to a C.M.S. Children's Festival at the Brents, Faversham, where we marched with our banners into the town and back again. We were then entertained by a puppet play, and afterwards enjoyed a lively Service in the Church, where our money for the C.M.S. project was presented. Our children very generously gave £10.55 which went towards the grand total of £608.
