very helpful and I hope that they will keep coming in.

At the Assembly it was agreed that the Hall and Playing Field Committee would carry out arrangements for the Silver Jubilee celebrations.

STOCKBURY HALL AND PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE

By the time you receive this report we hope to have the piano back in the Hall, and we ask everyone to take care of it. We have just paid a bill for £34.00 for the replacement of broken windows, but, alas, two more have recently been broken! If we are to be faced with these unnecessary expenses we shall have to put up the Hall hire charges, which will be a pity as the committee work so hard to keep costs down. Parents can help by asking their children to be careful when playing round the Hall. The next money-making event will be the Spring Fayre. Please give this your support as we want to complete payments on the Playing Field so that we can go ahead with new facilities.

SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

I hope that you have got the date in your diary! If not, put it in now JUNE 11th. Every household will be receiving an envelope for donations, and details of the children under twelve years of age will be asked for at the same time. If everyone is generous, as we are confident they will be, we shall be able to provide a grand afternoon and evening - sports, a tea far the children, entertainment, and a family dance. Give us the money and leave the rest to us!

TALKING POINT

I was pleased to see my comments in the March issue got some response. May I assure Nora Clacey that I was not referring to the Primrose Lane area. I am concerned with the view from the church into the valley; it is declining at a rapid rate, and I ask, "What are our peers doing? Why are they allowing it to happen?"

THE NOT SO YOUNG CLUB

At the meeting on April 5th, we welcomed three new members. The evening marked the occasion of two Golden Weddings - those of Mr. and Mrs. Manktelow and Mr. and Mrs. Cox - and we had wine and cake. Entertainment was provided by Mr. D. Ford. who played his piano-accordian and members joined in some singing and dancing.

STOCKBURY GARDENERS' ASSOCIATION

The April meeting was attended by twenty members to hear an interesting talk by Mrs. Menhinick of Orpington about 'Sink Gardens and Patio Pots'. Our May meeting will be at the home of Mr. Packman, one of our members, to see his collection of cacti. There will be a Cheese and Wine Evening at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, June 4th, at the Village Hall, and we shall be pleased to welcome anyone who wishes to join us then. tickets 70p.

MINI YOUTH CLUB

Our next event will be the sponsored walk. Let us hope that we can raise more money for the funds this year than we did last year. With the better weather, more outside activities are possible. If anyone has any bright ideas to stimulate the young members' interests, do let us have them.

Support is good and, if it continues to be so, it is hoped to carry on for several more weeks.
