Having now seen the Progremme of Events for the Bank Holiday Jubilee week-end, I hope that as many people as possible will do their very best to attend all the functions and make it as successful as possible.

It is very much hoped that everybody will look on this as a village affair, and also one very much for the family, and the Council look forward to seeing as many people as possible over the week-end.

We also hope that everyone will enter into the spirit of things by decorating their houses and gardens with anything that will help make the village look colourful.

The Council has put £100.00 towards their target figure of £500.00 for the Jubilee Fund. It is hoped that all groups and individuals within the village will feel able to support this fund. Cheques should be made payable to the Hartlip Parish Council. Should there be any surplus above the target figure, this will be applied to purposes of benefit within the village.

Appointment of Parish Council Clerk. The Council has appointed Mrs. Pauline Carlton as the new Parish Concil Clerk. Mrs. Carlton was appointed on the 1st April and we wish her well in her new appointment. Any matters for the Clerk should now be addressed to Mrs. Carlton at 29 Grainy Field. Telephone 843104.

The Annual Parish Meting. This will be held in the Village Hall at 8 p.m. an Thursday, May 12th.

STOCKBURY PARISH COUNGIL

The Parish Assembly was reasonably well attended, but I would have liked to have seen more people there to participate in the discussions.
