helpers makes it easier for the few who had to shoulder all the work before. The film show an the 6th March was enjoyed by the children, but there was not much support from parents. However, although the film cost £30, there was no loss. The raffle and tuck-shop helped us to break even. Future events will be a sponsored walk and a Disco - so watch the noticeboard!

HALL AND PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE
You will see new cups and saucers in the Hall and these are a very generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. J. Kingsford in memory of Mr. Jack Kingsford, who was very active in village affairs.
There are some heavy financial commitments ahead and we have to pay off some further amounts which will soon be due on the Playing Field, the piano repairs and Hall repairs. However, our Treasurer continues to smile so we assume that we shall keep in the black!
Plans are going ahead far the Silver Jubilee Celebrations and further information will be made known after the matter has been discussed at the Parish Assembly.

SO YOUNG CLUB
It was our twelfth birthday party on March 15th and we celebrated with a Fish 'n Chip Supper. Since the club was formed in March 1965 it has flourished and we now have a membership of sixty-four. New members, are of course, always welcome.
We thank Mrs. Hall for her five years hard work as Secretary, a job she has now handed over to Mrs. Nora Clacey. At the same time, we are glad that Mrs. Hall is to continue as Entertainment Secretary.
Finally, we were sorry to hear of the death of one of our members, Mr. Albert Brooks, who died on February 4th, and we extend our sympathy to Mrs. Brooks.

STOCKBURY GARDENERS' ASSOCIATION
Our February meeting was a very interesting one. Mr. Bob Wright talked to us and showed us slides on Dahlias, which made a pleasant evening. We are having a coach outing to Spalding on Sunday, 1st May; if anyone would like to join us, please contact Mrs. Wright. Tel.: Wormshill 271. Our next meeting will be on April 7th at 730 p.m. in the Village Hall, when the subject will be Sink Gardens.

A PLEA TO STOCKBURYITES! - FROM STOCKBURY W.I.
As you may have heard, unless things improve in the next few months, is may be necessary to close the Stockbury branch of the W.I. We now have only sixteen members - and we need more! The thought of having to close down is particularly sad when you remember that only last year we celebrated our Golden Jubilee and looked forward to many more successful years. Surely we can't let our branch go after surviving for mare than fifty years, including the war years? Please came along to some of our meetings on the second Wednesday of each month - the next one is an April 13th - and help us to carry on. And if you are in any doubt about coming, please give me a ring on Wormshill 461 and have a chat with me. We need new members and new ideas.
Despite our small numbers, we have booked a coach to take us to a Drama Evening at the Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone, in the near future.
At our last meeting the competition winners were: Flower of the Month - Mrs. Thompsett; How Many Stamps in the Jar? - Mrs. Wright. We rounded off the meeting with a game of Bingo.
