Farewell

And best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Camber, who have moved from London Road to Ivy Street, Rainham. We shall hope still to see something of them, as they are continuing to work here.

Our Bells

May soon be ringing more often again. Victor Hollands (carrying on a family tradition) and Richard and Colin Ford will, we hope, soon be able to ring rounds competently, thus supplementing our band. This is often augmented by various willing ringers from Stockbury. We have been pleased, therefore, to lend them our tower on Wednesdays for a recent striking, competition at Rodmersham. More learners will be welcomed in the autumn.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK-15th - 20th May

The eleventh Christian Aid Week. I ask you again, ALL OF YOU, to make sure that the Christian Churches, working together and in consultation with world governments, can go on caring for those in need. The stress is more and more on supplying equipment and teaching the backward peoples how to grow more food than on supplying the food itself. Here are some of the ways you can help :-

  1. Give direct into one of the LOAF or HAYSTACK COLLECTING BOXES.
  2. Come to the BREAD and CHEESE LUNCH at the Vicarage on Wednesday, 17th May.
  3. Send something new or second-hand to the CHRISTIAN AID SHOP in Sittingbourne - open 3rd to 13th May. This includes a daily cake and marmalade stall.
  4. Save all your Commonwealth and foreign POSTAGE STAMPS (including English pictorials) and send them to me at the Vicarage.
  5. Stage your own special INDIVIDUAL EFFORT.
