Guide and Brownie News
We are delighted to announce that Mary Jarrett is now a "Queen's Guide"; she will be presented with her badge by our County Commissioner, Mrs. Notley, who is making a special visit to the Company. We all congratulate Mary; we are very proud of her - she has worked hard and has achieved this top award at 14, in the three years since the Company started!
May I take this opportunity of thanking all those who so kindly helped us in any way with our financial efforts for our Swiss holiday; without this help we should have been very restricted, as everything was very expensive, but thanks to all our kind friends we were able to soar to the heights by cable car and aerial railways - the biggest thrill of all - and visited numerous places by boat and coach. A wonderful holiday long to be remembered; it was a pleasure to be with the Guides who gave me every assistance.
Our Brownies, ten of them, won the Rainham District Sports Cup, to our delight and surprise! The Pack was very excited, more especially because it was our first public appearance.
Three Brownies have won their first badge. Kay Buchan has got her Swimmer's, and Sharon Cork and Linda Davis have their House Orderly.

Cricket Club
Our season finished in August, unfortunately with a defeat by Stockbury, whom we had beaten twice earlier in the summer. This time we played in the midst of their annual fete, so the distractions were undoubtedly too great! For the record our figures read Played 13, Won 6, Drawn 2, and Lost 5; a good deal better than we dared to expect at the start of the season.
