FROM THE METHODIST MINISTER
My first two letters for the Hartlip Parish Magazine were written rather in the dark, for I knew little or nothing about the inhabitants of this attractive village. However, I have now had opportunity to learn about you from first hand and I have been delighted with the splendid spirit that exists between our two churches and I should like to record my own personal appreciationof the most cordial welcome extended to both my wife and myself. This has helped us to feel very much at home very quickly. I trust we shall continue to work together for the common concerns of the Kingdom of God. In the political, social and religious fields we are facing drastic and rapid changes and whilst our Christian Gospel is eternal it is applicable to every new change. It is both eternal and immediate and never dates. It is up to us to interpret its message through the medium of contemporary life and thought, so that it becomes not the fashion of a particular group or nation but the means of life and salvation to the world.
