STOCKBURY PARISH COUNCIL
At our October meeting seven members of the public attended the Democratic Half-hour, and some very helpful suggestions and comments were made. Applications for planning are carefully considered, but there is, however, a feeling that the District Council could be firmer in protecting the countryside.
The Parish Council wish you all a Very Happy Christmas, and hope that in 1978 some of the problems that exist in the village will be solved.

HALL AND PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE
Bingo evenings continue to be well supported and provide a steady income to our funds, which are quite healthy. The Rugby Club finds the Playing Field reasonable, and it is hoped that in due course we shall see games played there. 1977 has been a good year, but let us make up our minds that 1978 will be even better.
Best wishes to all who use the Hall in 1978.

MINI YOUTH CLUB
The film show was enjoyed by all who attended, that is, by 30 children and eight adults, but it was hoped that more would have come. It costs about £30 for such an event, and unless they are financially viable it will not be possible to continue to have them. I must congratulate the ladies who provided the refreshments, and I observed that one Mini Member managed to eat eight hot-dogs - quite a record!
