generous donations from Christian Fellowship and Chapel Funds, nearly £2 from our Youth Club and several gifts from old-age pensioners. Only three people gave me used postage stamps. I am sure there must be some more about. These can be received by me at any time of the year but, as with most things, the sooner the better. I am most grateful, too, to those who helped in any way with the Christian Aid shop in Sittingbourne High Street; I believe they made about £500.

THE PRIMARY SCHOOL IN YORK
an Impression
We left for York at 7.30 a.m. on Thursday, 13th May ... the train arrived at York at 2.10 p.m. We visited the Railway Museum the same afternoon but that did not interest me so much as some of the other things we saw in the five days. At 9.30 a.m. on Friday a coach came to pick us up to take us round Yorkshire to see some places. The first thing was Pickering Castle and that was what I liked best on the whole journey. We next went to Goathland, which I thought was quite nice. On the way there we crossed the Yorkshire Moors and I thought they were beautiful, with all the heather just starting to bud. Then we went to Whitby, which was quite a quiet place. We next went to Scarborough and spent the whole of the afternoon there. On Saturday we were going to walk round York and we began with a conducted tour of the Guildhall, which was very interesting - more than the Merchant Adventurers' Hall, which we saw next. Then we walked to Gray's Court and the gentleman who showed us round digs for old Roman remains in York itself. Afterwards we saw in the Museum Gardens the Multangular Tower, which was built A.D.300. Most people were looking forward to going to the Minster and that afternoon we went there for a conducted tour by Mr. MacMullen, the Sacrist . Later we went to Evensong and then climbed the Central Tower which is 188ft. high. After walking round some of the wall on Sunday we went at 11.30 a.m. to Sung Eucharist, which lasted an hour. In the afternoon we went to Flamingo Park Zoo and stayed there the rest of the afternoon. On Monday we took our luggage to the station and ... arrived at Newington at 8.53 p.m.
