HARTLIP MOTHERS' UNION

Owing to the cancellation of our speaker, an informal meeting was held in the Hall on April 17th. We are very pleased to relate that the Cake Sale at the Lychgate raised the sum of £18. We will be holding these sales, starting at 10.00 a.m. on the last Saturday of the month, throughout the summer months.

YOUNG WIVES

On April 15th an enjoyable meeting was held with Miss Pullar - we collected new recipes from her and quite a few useful cooking tips.

We had a pleasant trip to Shell Research Centre and were very well looked after by the staff, a most interesting evening. Our final meeting this season will be the Car Rally on June 3rd - commencing at 7 p.m. outside the church.

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

A very happy afternoon on Wednesday the 7th with the people from Fern Club, Bow, London, who all appreciated our efforts of entertaining very much.

Our meeting on the resolutions went very well, with the help of our V.C.O. Mrs. R. Allen (Ashford), we have given our representative our votes to take to the Albert Hall.

A vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Wallis, saying Mrs. Allen had helped us well to make our minds up, giving both sides of the resolutions. An excellent tea was provided by Mrs. Russell and her helpers.
