Youth Club

From March 10th the Club evening will be organised into two sessions - juniors, 7 - 9 p.m.; seniors, 9 - 11 p.m. The committee has taken this step in the interests of all members, especially the older ones, whom it is hoped to attract back to the club with new activities, made possible by the reorganisation.

This month should also see the presentation of the new notice-board in the hall as a memorial to David Tong. The Youth Service last month proved quite successful and congratulations are due to the 7.40 Group on their efficient organisation. Seats are still available for our outing to the Variety Show for Spastics at Wembley on 16th April, so why not come along?

CHAIRMAN OF THE PARISH COUNCIL REPORTS: -

Several complaints have been received regarding the siting of the School sign approaching from the Maidstone end of the village. This sign was moved, when the new houses were built, to a position that was half-hidden from one direction. The County Council, having been approached, have now moved it to the other side of the road and put the latest sign up. This we feel will give everyone adequate time to see it whichever way they approach it.

The Council has also approached the County Council regarding painting a line on the corner near Keites Styles. This the Council feels will help people to avoid accidents when rounding this very dangerous corner.

The Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Thursday, 30th March, at 8.15 p.m. I do hope that everybody who can will attend this meeting, as it is the one time in the year when people can come and discuss with the Council anything they wish. It would be good to see a better attendance than the last year or so. So please come if you can; we shall be very pleased to, see you.
