Donations enabled us to buy 18 lilies for the two sanctuary arrangements. Thank you, so much; also to, all those who brought or sent flowers for church decoration.

Lenten Effort

By one church member took the form of selling home-produced flowers, marmalade and jam, to the tune of £7 - to help pay off the Church Heating Fund deficit.

THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH

"So they ran both together".

St. John 20:4.

As the news of the resurrection, as borne by St. Mary Magdalene, brought St. John and St. Peter running to the sepulchre, so now the story of the Death and Resurrection of our blessed Lord must compel a response in ourselves. St. John represents love and St. Peter zeal, and our love and zeal must move concurrently towards our risen Lord. When the two Apostles came to the sepulchre St. John at first did not enter, but he stooped down and looked in, till St. Peter, arriving, entered before him. Love teaches reverence and holy fear; zeal moves to learn and know. We must regard the truth of the resurrection with great reverence, but we, may also dare to ask and find its full meaning for ourselves; and, as these two Apostles ran together, we, under the constraint of the risen Master, must bring our souls and bodies into the harmony of devotion. Our work and worship, our creed and our character, must run both together in daily approach towards God.

Prayer: Grant us, Lord, to die daily unto sin, that we may evermore live with Thee in the joy of Thy resurrection. Amen.
