Youth Club
The tragic loss of David Tong last month was felt by everyone who knew him, and all our sympathies go out to his family. The Club Committee are inviting suggestions over the next few months for a memorial to David in the village (e.g., an annual award or a plaque), and the Secretary will be pleased to receive, them.
Fair weather heralded our outing to Margate last month, and on the way down we were taken round the R.A.F. Rescue Station at Manston, where a "live" demonstration of Air-Sea rescue techniques and helicopter manoeuvering was staged for us on the airfield.
This month we have another ramble on the 22nd and an outing to London Airport and Battersea Fun-Fair on the 16th (Saturday). The coach leaves the Rose & Crown at midday and the cost to members and schoolchildren is 7/6 (friends and non-members 13/-).
The Club will be closed throughout August.
