FROM THE METHODIST MINISTER

Dear Friends,

It was a great pleasure to be able to join together for our United Covenant Service at the beginning of January, even if our pleasure was tempered by sheer physical coldness! One of our frustrations at the Methodist chapel at the moment, is that we have a complete new electrical heating system installed, but we are unable to use it, until extra power lines are installed. Nethertheless, it was still an occasion of great rejoicing, as we renewed our vows together. Of course occasions such as this are still tests of our understanding and Christian charity. It is never easy to enter into the heritage of someone else's tradition. No doubt, we Methodists find ourselves similarly tested on the occasions when we join in services at the Parish Church. It is these very facts that make our coming together the venture in fellowship that it is. May we long continue to grow together in understanding that we, may be joined in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

Yours sincerely,

DENIS GARDINER.

Our Sympathy

Goes to the family of Mr. Herbert Leonard, who died in All Saints' Hospital on 24th January. A resident of Chesley and Hartlip since a boy, Mr. Leonard had worked for several farmers, mainly as a waggoner and stockman.

Congratulations

To Mr. Tom Ades on his recent award of the Jack Fowle Trophy for the outstanding performance of the 1965 season for Bobbing Court C.C. His 150 not out was in fact the highest score in the Club's history.
