W.V.S.
At the Village Representatives' Christmas teaparty, on 4th December, members and their friends contributed enough children's garments to fill a suitcase and a sack - a tremendous help towards supplying a constant demand. Help with staffing the Store is now forthcoming from Sittingbourne, Bredgar, Doddington, Selling and Teynham (although of course Hartlip must always be in charge) but a good deal of mending has accumulated lately and non-W.V.S. members who can spare time to join in our Sewing Bees will be most welcome. Please ring Mrs. Garrett, New: 504.

Village Hall
On 25th January an audience of nearly 150, witnessed the Newington Concert Party's latest show. The performances were well up to the high standard previously set and the evening was much enjoyed. The new curtains and stage setting showed up well and general approval was expressed by many on the choice of the colour of the curtains. The Village Hall A.G.M. is to be held in the Hall at 8 p.m. on Thursday, 20th February.
