Pestalozzi international village for children. Now the Guides are bracing themselves for the task to be alloted them in the "Discoverer's Challenge", open to patrols from all over the Commonwealth.

Finally, a welcome to a newcomer to our columns, the Women's Voluntary Service, still quietly continuing in peacetime guise its great wartime service to the community. It may not be generally known that Hartlip has the responsibility of staffing the Clothing Store in Station Street, Sittingbourne. This serves the needs of the town and rural district and also sends supplies, when required, for distribution in many parts of the world. Mrs. Garrett is the Clothing Officer, appointed by W.V.S. County H.Q., and Miss E. Woodcock her deputy. Members work on a rota system, as the Store is open every Monday and Thursday afternoon. This is a big job for a small membership and anyone with an occasional afternoon to spare will be welcome as an auxiliary.
