We have been extremely lucky; two people have kindly agreed to take over the Brownie Pack, Mrs. K. Watson and Mrs. Dennis Ward. I am sure the Brownies will be very happy with them. Mrs. Chick, who has done champion work while I was ill, and to whom I am most grateful, will take the Guide Company - with the help of Mrs. Setford, who is full of ideas, and Miss Julia Montgomerie, who has just passed her Lieutenant's Warrant. This team will also I know be successful! We are having a party and entertainment at the end of this term, to which we hope to welcome all the parents and introduce the new Guiders officially.

May I also take this opportunity to thank all our Badge Examiners who help us so much, and will I hope continue to do so! Mr. Ford, who lets us have the use of the school, the Revd. and Mrs. Green, who have helped us in many ways, and Mrs. Ambrose and Mrs. Allen, who have run meetings in times of crisis! The Guides will be running patrol camps in July and August, so let us hope the weather will be kind. Good Camping and Happy Days!

Eileen Taylor.

Cricket Club

A cold wet May has caused one match to be cancelled and another abandoned after 6 overs. Borden were allowed to convert 28 for 8 into 83 all out. The B.P. game was remarkable for an unusually sustained spell of bowling by Colin Ford and Harry Holden. The latter bowled unchanged for two hours and the former for 110 minutes; as a measure of their steadiness, B.P. scored only 56 runs in the first 90 minutes. Hartlip, batting only 8 men, lost their last man two minutes from time.

Apr. 27 Borden 83 (C. Ford 3 - 24, Holden 5 - 23). Hartlip 60 (D. Kendrick 18).
May 11 B.P. (Grain) 100 - 6 dec. (C. Ford 1 - 35, Holden 2 - 37). Hartlip 35 (D. Ford 14).

Village Hall

1. 22nd June at 6.30 p.m. - Barbecue, Hot Do-nuts, Archery Competition, Pony Rides, an exhibition of Scottish Dancing and a variety of sideshows - all this and an opportunity to help the Village Hall. Do come to spend a pleasant evening on the playing field (if wet, in the Hall). Mr. and Mrs. Brian Smith will draw the raffle prizes at 9 p.m.

2. Help needed - Can anyone spend three hours per week looking after our Village Hall? Times and duties can be arranged. Please contact any member of the committee.
