Village Hall Heating Fund
Since the appeal was launched at the beginning of October, the Village Hall Committee has pleasure in announcing that the fund stands at £71 to date. We wish to thank all who helped to raise this money, and look for your support in the future events being organised in aid of the fund.
On 11th December Mrs. J. Stevens and Mrs. J. Melville are organising a social evening. All are welcome and you can be sure of a pleasant evening.

Our Sympathies
To Mr. and Mrs. White on their recent car accident on Hartlip Hill. We do assure them of our concern, and of our prayers for their speedy recovery.
Earl Haig Fund
Many thanks to all who contributed. The church collection amounted to £13 12s. 10d. and the house to house collection, organised by the school to £23 7s. 0d.
ROUND THE SOCIETIES
Christian Fellowship
Owing to the tremendous generosity of a great many people, the proceeds of our Harvest Supper were £23£3s.£3d. This sum was handed over to Mr. Lloyd as the Fellowship contribution to the Village Hall Heating Fund. To all those who made this possible, thank you very much indeed.
On November 14th, 22 people managed to seat themselves in the lounge at Eastfields to hear Mr. Bunten talk on his work as a Child Care Officer in Deptford. He was tremendously interesting, but what a story he had to tell of home conditions (or lack of them) in his area! It is terribly difficult for us in Hartlip to realise that people live and behave in the way he described. In addition to being a Child Care Officer, Mr. Bunten is a Baptist minister. He will certainly not lack material for his sermons.
Mr. and Mrs. Kendrick are very kindly providing hospitality on 12th December for our discussion on "The Ethics of Transplants". Mr. Kendrick and the Rev. Roy Chittenden will be there to start the discussion.
Looking forward to the New Year, please note 11th January, - the date of our New Year Party, which will be in aid of the "Save the Children Fund".

Mothers' Union
Mrs. Brown of Borden was the speaker at our meeting in the Village Hall on 21st November. Mrs. Ambrose opened the meeting with prayer and welcomed the visitor, who is a friend of long standing. We were greatly helped by the message, which encouraged us in our desire to be of the best possible use during the period without a vicar.
We are looking forward to our party on 19th December at Pelistry, Yelsted, by kind invitation of Mrs, K, Williamson.
