ROUND THE SOCIETIES
7.40 Group
Our A.G.M. on 8th January gave us a new secretary, Glenys Cox, and a new treasurer, David Ford. Best wishes to them and our sincere thanks, to Anne Fentiman (who has a new job) and Ann Williamson (who is preparing for "A" level) for administering the Group's affairs through 1966. Please note the special Youth Service on Sunday, 5th February, with music supplied by the Lodgers (from St. Lawrence, Ramsgate), who are joining us at the School afterwards.
Mothers' Union
Waste - of so much of life, of so much natural talent we possess - was the theme of the Rev. John Meacham in his address in church at our January service. We were glad also to admit two new members, Mrs. Ingle and Mrs. Saxby. Afterwards there was tea and an informal meeting at the Vicarage.
M.H.
Women's Institute
A young Dutch housewife, Mrs. Langford, from Upchurch, came over to give us a talk on interior decorating. She likened her ideas to the "Ten Commandments", which she considered should be carried out in every home, and she stressed some do's and I don'ts relating to colour, lighting and comfort.
After tea, Mrs. Langford judged the Christmas Cake entries, and awarded first prize to Mrs. Jarrett.
A raffle run by Mrs. Kelvie for W.I. funds amounted to £1 12s. 0d.

Youth Club
At the time of writing preliminary discussions are taking place about the proposed Youth Service, on February 5th. Although the 7.40 fellowship will obviously be the most involved, the Youth Club committee are regarding the venture with interest, and have met the 7.40 committee to exchange ideas and suggestions on the type of service. We hope that "older" churchgoers will view the service with interest and support this bold venture.
The committee are considering the splitting of Club Evenings into junior and senior sessions, 16 years being the dividing line. Comments, on this idea will be gratefully received and will be considered in association with the Area Meeting of the Sittingbourne and District Youth Council at the Hall on February, 8th.
Our Christmas Carol Singing resulted in £8 14s. 6d. being sent to, the Royal Deaf School at Margate. This is a new record and we thank all those, who contributed.
Our A.G.M. will be held during the normal Club evening on February 3rd.
