Young Wives' Fellowship
The Young Wives' Group has been greatly encouraged by the new members and friends who have joined in recent activities.
The newly decorated coffee bar proved a cheerful and attractive setting for the demonstration of the Bamix food mixer at the last meeting. We learned, and tasted, and asked questions, and in many cases went home to try and sell the mixer to our husbands. Fresh fruit squash and ten-minute soup would be a welcome addition to the menus of many households; and it is certainly an asset to be able to produce one's own castor and icing sugar.
We now turn to Christmas preparations, and our meeting on 19th December will be mainly in preparation for our party on 9th January.

Junction Club
The Christmas Draw this year will be held on Friday, 15th December, at an Old Time and Modern Dance in the Village Hall. Tickets for the draw have only just become available; please help to return all counterfoils in time. It is expected that we will be carol singing again this year, although no date has yet been agreed. We hope to be able to continue our gift of coal to some of our older friends in the village, for the third year running, and would like to hear of any other ways in which we can help some of our less fortunate friends to enjoy the spirit of Christmas.
Our members' Christmas Party will be on 29th December. Our outing to the Ice Show (Cinderella) at Wembley will be in late January and anyone interested should contact us immediately.

Mothers' Union
The Vicar of Bredgar retraced with us the steps of his holiday in Scotland, with the help of slides and some thoughtful comment. He was sure, he said, that in the real quietness of the Scottish glen and hillside one could sense more easily the presence of God. We look forward to welcoming husbands as well as wives to our usual party at the vicarage.

Guides and Brownies
The Brownie Pack have welcomed Lesley Bostock, who accompanied them on their summer holiday, as their new Tawny Owl.
Six new recruits have joined the Pack this term, so numbers are on the increase again. They are: Clare Watson, Lynn Seymour, Mandy Ward, Claire Ward and Irene Carter.
Deirdre Kyle and Helen Graham have now gone up to the Guides, after having been most keen and efficient as Sixers in the Pack. We wish them every success in the Company.
