Mrs. Trickle was welcomed back to "the Chair", Mrs. Owsley and Mrs. Tong as new members; Mrs. Wallis and Mrs. Edmonds jointly grew the best bowl of bulbs, Mrs. Williamson was responsible for teas. In the future - a possible party to the Ideal Homes Exhibition some time in March (names, please, to Mrs. Marshall) a talk on "The care of the hair" on 9th March, and a Coffee Morning (with Bring and Buy) at Parsonage Cottage, 10.30 to 12, on 17th.

The Guides and Brownies have both been enjoying a warm School for their meetings in this colder weather, and have benefitted greatly, in another direction, from the very welcome reinforcements of a new Lieutenant, Mrs. Davis (who comes all the way from Gillingham) and of two new Pack Leaders in the Brownies, Ann Williamson and Janet Windsor. Congratulations to Leslie Ambrose, Karen Dawson, Diane Graham, and Helen Playford (all now 1st Class Brownies); also to Deirdre Kyle and Elizabeth Snape, who passed their Swimmer's badge aged seven, the youngest to obtain this. Sharon Cork and Linda Davies have flown up to Guides, and Caroline Birch, Christine Davis and Janet Sparks intend soon to try for the coveted Queen's Guide badge.

"Looker".

CHAIRMAN OF THE PARISH COUNCIL REPORTS

The Council has been mainly concerned with trying to get the developers of the proposed Dane House Estate to alter the road entrance and exit from where they have it at present (coming out on to the street) to move it round to the existing entrance to Dane House. If we were able to do this it would mean that we might be able to preserve the street as it stands at the present time; otherwise it means that we are going to lose the whole of the hedge and the whole estate is going to be opened up to the public. We do not feel that this will be all that pleasant, especially as the whole estate down to the road is going to be lit with street lighting.

I would like to draw your attention to the open meeting that is being held at 7.30 p.m. on the 10th March, 1965, at the Village Hall and would like to ask as many as possible to come to this meeting, so that any requests or suggestions that any of you may have may be dealt with straight away.
