And here is another question! What do you know about the Save the Children Fund? It was founded in 1923 to help children all over the world, children that are hungry or sick, handicapped physically or mentally maladjusted children or orphans. It works everywhere: Korea, Jordan, Greece, West Indies, Morocco, India and many other countries, including our own. Last January our New Year Party raised £10 for this fund. This time we would like to make it £20.
The date is January 9th in the Village Hall, - but if you can't manage to get along you could still buy a ticket and regard the cost as your Christmas gift to this Fund. Tickets will be on sale immediately after Christmas. If you would prefer to give some items of food for the refreshments to be sold at the Party we should be most grateful.
Please help us to start 1965 with a generous donation to this Fund.

A busy meeting was held on 10th November and in spite of thick fog was well attended. Mrs. Trickle was elected President and a new committee was formed. Mrs. Leonard was appointed village hall representative, vice Mrs. Stevens, who resigned. The retiring President, Mrs. Lawrence, thanked all who had held office the previous year. She also read the report of the half-yearly Council meeting at Folkestone.
The J.C.O., Mrs. Samuelson, gave a most interesting talk on Denman College and the Women's Institute, Mrs. Miles giving the vote of thanks, and tea was provided by Mrs. Trickle and her helpers. Mrs. Leonard won the prize for the best home-made peg bag.
A letter was read, thanking the branch for their cheque for the County Fund, and as a result of all the coffee mornings and afternoon teas for this Fund, Hartlip came 3rd in the over 50 membership class in East Kent, for which we may feel justly proud.
Next Month, 6th December - Members' day, Mrs. Leonard being in charge.
