THE HARTLIP CHURCH MONTHLY.

HOLY BAPTISM.

Feb. 19 - Beatrice Florence, daughter of John and Harriet Kelmsley.

The annual Missionary meeting had to be put off twice, first on account of the snow, and then through the influenza. It was held at last on Friday, February 24th; 60 sat down to tea, and about 100 were present at the lantern views of the Holy Land afterwards shown. We add last years accounts of our Parochial Missionary Fund in aid of S.P.G.

The reports of H.M. Inspector, of the Inspector of Drawing, and of the Inspector of Religious Instruction in our School are all again excellent, and we congratulate Mr. Stevens, Miss Price, and the scholars.

The Archbishop has named Hartlip as one of the villages in which enquiries are to be made, and statistics gathered as to the possibility of forming a National Old-age Pension Fund, in aid of persons over 65, so that those who save in their youth may be certain of a comfortable old age if they are spared so long. The societies which give Sick-pay and burial-money only do not answer this purpose. The Vicar hopes that the parishioners of Hartlip will help him in these enquiries.

The Offertories on March 12th will be for the Diocesan Education Fund.

On Thursday March 9th the preacher will be the Rev. J. H. Drew, Vicar of St. Mary, Strood.
On Thursday"March 16th the preacher"will be the Rev. A. Freeman, Rector of Marston.
On Thursday"March 23rd the preacher"will be the Rev. C. Cobb, Vicar of Rainham.
