Found correct Jan. 23rd, 1892, THOMAS SONE.

(It will be seen that the Vicar is nearly £24 out of pocket by this Fund.)

As during the last Election Campaign it was stated that the Vicar of Hartlip received £500 a year, he has to state that the gross income in 1892 was £246 1s. 3d. (of which only £190 12s. was from Tithe), and that Rates, Taxes, and other compulsory payments were £75 19s. 10d. leaving only £170 1. 2d. nett income, which does not of course, nearly cover necessary household expenses. In fact he spends more than £2 of his own private means for every £1 derived from the living.

The inclement weather and illness has compelled us to put off the Missionary Tea for a few weeks, and the Concert in aid of the Bell Fund till Easter.
