THE HARTLIP CHURCH MONTHLY.

BURIAL.

June 1 - Cecil James Clout, of Crayford, aged 7 months.

On the Queen's birthday, 24th May, our Mothers' Meeting and G.F.S. members and candidates spent a pleasant day at Rosherville Gardens. The drive there and back was a surprise to some of the party. The bears, monkeys, parrots, and peacocks were much appreciated, and so, we believe, was the tea.

On Royal Oak Day, 29th May, the Choir visited the Zoological Gardens. The younger members enjoyed camel and elephant riding, but did not attempt to sit on a tiger. After seeing the lions and tigers at their meat-tea, we adjourned to our own meal. Next day nearly all the boys and girls in Hartlip wished they were in the choir.

The Vicar expresses his own and the parishioners regret that Walter Black has left the parish, and that we thereby lose an earnest Church-worker. But we hope that the change to Gravesend will be a happy and prosperous one.

In future no Choir boy, under 14 years old, can remain in the Choir if he ceases to attend the Sunday School regularly, unless necessary work, or some other satisfactory reason, justifies the Vicar in making an exception.

The Vicar has received a hearty letter of thanks from the master of Milton Workhouse for the flowers given by the parishioners of Hartlip at the Whitsunday Flower Service.

A good entertainment by the Siddon's family was given in our school on 2nd June, 47 were present.

The 8.30 Communion Services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays will be resumed in July. The Morning Services will also again commence at 11 a.m.
