THE HARTLIP CHURCH MONTHLY.

MARRIAGES.

August2 - Frederick Benjamin Cadley and Alice Sandys Stevens.
"13 - Alfred Richard Trice and Charlotte Mary Ongley.

Our Sunday School Festival was held, in glorious weather, on July 28th. We asked God's blessing by a short service, and then marched to Dane House with flying banners. Professor Charles was there with a photographic camera, Punch and Judy, and some conjuring. Our elder boys saw "how it was done," so we shall ask them to repeat the entertainment some day gratis. Cricket and other games were played, both before and after tea. We separated about 8 p.m., and owe our best thanks to the kind ladies who gave us such a pleasant day.

The Offertories on September 11th will be for the Canterbury Church Building Society.

On S. Michael and All Angels' Day, Thursday, September 29th, there will be Matins and Holy Communion, at 11 a.m., and a Festival Service, at 7.30 p.m. The preacher will be the Rev. G. W. Daniell, Chaplain of Dulwich College, Examining Chaplain to the Bishop of Rochester, and formerly Chaplain and Censor of King's College, London. The offertories will be for the Choir and Organ Fund. On the following Sunday the Harvest Festival will be celebrated, with Holy Communion at 8 and 11 a.m., and a special sermon in the afternoon. Offertories for the Hospital.

An American or Jumble Sale will be held in the School at the end of September or beginning of October. Everyone is asked to send for sale what they don't want, and to come and buy what they do. Mrs. Webb and Mrs. Locke will kindly receive gifts for it. The proceeds are for the purchase of a small American Organ for the School. Old carpets, furniture, books, clothing, &c., will be thankfully received. And as they are given to the sale, buyers will find them very cheap, and should save up their money for it.
