THE HARTLIP CHURCH MONTHLY.
The Sunday evening Special Services have recommenced at 6.30 p.m. The Service is short and bright. We should like to see more worshippers at the Communion Services.
MARRIAGE.
October 8 - Alfred Ongley to Kate Boakes.
Our Anniversary Tea was held on a very stormy night, October 4th, but about 50 ventured out. We hope to have our Missionary Tea as usual in January, 1893.
The Offertories for St. Bartholomew's Hospital on October 2nd (Harvest Festival) were £3 19s. 10d.
Our Jumble or American Sale was held on October 22nd, and realized nearly £7 7s. We have to thank the kind donors, the buyers, and above all the workers, who "kept shop" so professionally. The new American Organ is now in use, and is much admired for its tone and power.
The Offertories on November 13th will be for Church Expenses.
The first of the course of Lectures on English History was given on Thursday, October 10th, about 70 were present. The next Lecture (on the Saxon Period) will it is hoped be on Thursday, November, 3rd at 7.30 p.m. We believe that our magic lantern will be very useful.
The Mothers' Meeting has commenced. We expect to hear in a week or two that it is as much appreciated in Hartlip as in other Parishes.
