BURIAL.

June 24 - George Borer, aged 76.

Our first Flower Service was held on Whit-Sunday, and (in spite of showery weather) was very successful. Many flowers were offered, and the tasteful arrangement of some of the bouquets was much admired. They were taken next day to the Infirmary at Milton, where they were much appreciated by the sick and aged. The Vicar saw Mr. Borer, who was removed there from Hartlip some time ago, and who has since been taken to his rest.

The offertories in May were £3 15 6½, of which £1 1 0 was sent to the Church of England Temperance Society (Canterbury Diocesan Branch). The Additional Curates' Society, and offertories will be devoted to the Organist and Choir Fund which much needs help.

The Hartlip Cricket Club has won further victories. Halstow lost by many runs on May 28th, and on June fifth Bobbing was defeated by 36 runs on the 1st innings, though we must admit that if stumps had not been drawn, the result on the 2nd innings might have been different, the score then being Hartlip 30 and Bobbing 57, with 5 wickets to fall.
