PARISH NOTES
Congratulations
To the 7.40 Group, and their car drivers and checkers, on a well-organised and very successful sponsored walk in aid of the Organ Fund. Thank you, too, for the generous response by many people to this project. If anyone would have liked to have sponsored a walker and was not asked, please forgive this quite unintentional omission. The 7.40 Group will undoubtedly be undertaking other projects and in any case the Organ Fund remains open to further contributions.
Congratulations
To Richard Ford, on gaining two A level subjects at grade A, and a third at grade B, together with a distinction on his special paper; also to his father, Mr. C. G. Ford on passing with distinction the University of London Certificate of Junior Education exam, which he took earlier this summer.
Invalids
We record with a deep sense of thanksgiving the return home for convalescence of Carol Auger after a serious operation in Guy's Hospital. Both she and Sheila Illingworth continue to need our prayers.
Sunday School
This reopens on Sunday, 10th September. May I remind parents of the arrangements - Sunday School is at 11 a.m., Infants in the School, juniors in the church, except on the 1st Sunday in the month, when there is our Family Communion service at 9.30 a.m., at which children of all ages are, welcome. On the other Sundays the juniors join in the normal worship at Morning Prayer up to the Third Collect before withdrawal for a short period of instruction. Anne Williamson leaves for Training College this month after 2½ years' very loyal and regular membership of the teaching staff and we hope she will do very well at St. Mary's, Cheltenham. In turn we welcome as teachers, Alison Ford and Penny Hollands, both of whom are considering teaching as a career.
