FROM THE METHODIST MINISTER

Dear Friends,

As the New Year begins, Methodists, all over the country join in their annual Covenant Services, when we join together in renewing our covenant relationship with the God who has made Himself known to us in Christ. At Hartlip, the service will be held on Sunday evening, January 8th, and, as has become the custom, our friends from the Parish Church will be joining us for this service, with the Vicar sharing in the service.

We extend a warm welcome to all to join us on this special occasion in the Church's life. Remembering the freezing conditions in which we met for this service last year, I would like to reassure everyone that the welcome will be warm in more ways than one! Our new electric heating system is now fully operational. A Happy New Year to all.

Yours sincerely,

DENIS E. GARDINER.

PARISH NOTES

Gift Service

Presents at this service on Sunday evening, 18th December, went mainly to St. David's Home, Broadstairs (C. of E. Children's Society). The play-group I saw included a Ghanian and a Chinese child and they were, of course, all delighted. Matron sends warm thanks.

Christmas Bazaar, 1966

Well done! Even better than last year. A most encouraging afternoon. It was good to see some fresh faces behind the stalls, together with the many loyal regulars, and there were some surprises, too - menus on the tea-tables, and two unexpected magnificent Christmas cakes from Mrs. Lewis and Mr. Brian Smith to supplement Mrs. Allen's own home-made one. Again our opener, Mrs. Harland, played a very full part, showing a great interest in everything. A grand effort by everyone.
