On October 7th several members went to the Group Meeting at Swale. Hartlip's competition entry, "A Harvest Festival in a soup plate", was Highly Commended. Well done, Mrs. Partridge!
Will all members please try and come to the next meeting, which is on November 9th at 2.30 p.m., when Mrs. Cook, V.C.O., will be coming and the new committee formed?

Christian Fellowhsip
The season began with the Harvest Supper on 9th October and a United Service in the Methodist Church on 14th. After doubts the preceding week over its support, the Supper was in fact attended by the same numbers as last year. There was a later start than usual - at 7 p.m., and an earlier finish - at 10 p.m. This made it more of a family and social gathering.
Mrs. Noble and Mr. and Mrs. Peatfield entertained us during the evening. We were extremely grateful to them and to Mr. Purt and Mr. Ron Friar, who led us in the community singing. The Rev. D. Gardiner was only able to spend half an hour with us, because of his work at the Youth Centre in Gillingham. We extend a very sincere welcome to him.
On 14th October, Mr. Gardiner conducted our joint service, the Vicar preaching. At this service we were able to welcome a member of the Baptist Church into the Fellowship - Mr. Mountford, newly arrived in Hartlip. Members of any of the Christian Churches are welcome in the Fellowship; we would like to reach out beyond Anglicans and Methodists.
Next meeting, 11th November, the Governor of the Rochester Borstal Institution will be speaking in the Methodist Schoolroom.
