The Interior
Of the church has recently had a spring-clean; not so thorough as last year, mainly because, regretfully, workers were not so numerous. I am, of course, very grateful indeed to those who did come, all of whom worked very hard. One special touch was the redecoration of the vestry by Mr. Titcomb. Coincident with that week was the return of the lace-boardered altar cloth in the Lady Chapel, which has been repaired and laundered with great skill and care by Mrs. Bone. May I also use this opportunity to pay tribute to the regular care of the church that Mrs. Moon and Mrs. Pemble unfailingly give, week by week.
Lent saving
Through missionary boxes produced £11 2s. 11d., a considerable improvement on last year's total. This sum has not yet been despatched to a Society, pending arrangements being finalised for the parish to adopt a mission project or station - an idea that developed from our Lent Discussion Group.
Missions
Will also be the theme of a Great Rally to be held in Canterbury on Saturday, 17th July, at 6.30 p.m. The Bishop of Maidstone will be in the chair and the main speaker will be the Right Reverend Ralph Dean, Bishop of Cariboo. Further details will be posted in the church porch. Transport will be available. Every parish in the Diocese is expected to send a representative.

Churchyard Fund
The house to house collection amounted to £24 13s. 3d. I should like specially to thank the collectors Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Carlton, Mrs. Harlow, Mrs. Kitchingham, Mrs. Lawrence, Mrs. Leonard, Mrs. Milgate, Mrs. Philpot and Mrs. Titcomb. If you did not have an opportunity to make a subscription envelopes are available at the vicarage.

Cricket Club
We have won one match, tied one and lost one, since last reporting, and there has been some exciting cricket and unusual happenings. Against Seeboard the club put on 75 for the first wicket (allegedly a post-war record), only to suffer complete collapse afterwards. Goudhurst saw the usual exciting finish and next week we took the field at home with only 50 runs to play with and yet romped home by 36 runs, after some really steady, accurate bowling from Selling and Carlton; they will probably not bowl better all this season.
