The Vicarage,
29th January, 1925.

My Dear Friends,

From a health point of view this been a trying month and many of us have been more or less laid by with the prevailing influenza. Shut up myself, I have been sorry to hear of one and another in the village on the sick list, and many of the children (especially in the Infants' Department) unable to be at school. However, after all the dull weather, and with the lengthening days, we shall no doubt see more of the sun soon, and sunshine is the great health giver.

Personal1y, I always try to think that there is no bad weather, for it seems to me to be presumptuous for us to dictate on a subject which is so far-reaching and one about which we are so incompetent to judge fully; but as far as our bodily health is concerned, we do seem to suffer when his Majesty the Sun hides his face from us for long.

It is now time for the annual revision of the Roll of Electors - the list of the Church people of the parish who are entitled to attend the Church Meeting and to elect the Parochial Council for the year. We shall be glad to add to the roll any others who are entitled to be upon it. They must be (1) eighteen years of age; (2) residents in the parish or have habitually attended the services of the Church for the past year; (3) members of the Charch of England, and not belonging to any religions body which is not in communion with the Church of England. The form of "Declaration as to Quailification" must be signed. Copies of this form will be found in the Church, and it is hoped that any who are not yet entered on the Roll and are qualified to be so, will sign the form as soon as possible. The Roll has to be compileted fourteen days before the Annual Church Meeting which wil, I hope, be held about the end of February.

I am looking forward to quite a nice number of Candidates for Confirmation this year. The Classes for Instruction and Preparation will begin soon, and I shall be pleased to hear from any who would like to come to them. Of course those who come to the Classes will not at all pledge themselves to be Confirmed. They will have the opportuniity of instbruction on this important subject, and then, later on, they will be in a position to say whether they wish to go on to Confirmation. None

need, therefore, keep away from the Classes because they have not made ups their minds. I need hardly say that I shall be most pleased to talk this matter over privately, in the first place, with any one who would like to see me about it.

I remain,

Your sincere Friend and Vicar,
D. H. CREATON.
