Photo & image archive

photo album logo

An on-line archive of photographs and document images concerned with Hartlip is being constructed. So far it contains 408 images, but more are being added all the time.

It is possible to search the archive using key words, using the search box on the right. Either a simple search using key words is possible or, by clicking on the advanced search link, a more sophisticated search may be undertaken. Also, images of a certain year may be retrieved by using the "browse by date" facility.

Have we got the details wrong?

If we have made any mistakes in captioning or dating the photos, or if you can add any information, please contact Peter Blandon quoting the reference number of the image in question.

Simple searchhelp

Each photo held in the archive has a few lines of description associated with it. The search matches the words typed into the box below against these descriptions and returns the result of the search at the bottom of the page when "search album" button is clicked.

In the simple search each caption will contain one (or more) of the words typed into the box. If words are enclosed in double quotation marks (e.g."post office") the caption must contain the phrase as typed, and not the single words.

Browse by Date

Select a year from the list and click on the "browse by date" button for all the photos taken in that year.

Note: For many photos the exact year in which they were taken is not known.
