Young Wives' Fellowship
The current session of the Young Wives' activities ended with our evening at Challock Lees on 20th June, when Mrs. Stephens entertained us at Woodlands. Rhododendrons were in full bloom round the gardens, and the evening passed very quickly as we enjoyed each other's company and made plans for the coming months. An exciting game of rounders on the lawn encouraged us to challenge our husbands to a cricket match later in the summer. Certain of our members displayed considerable prowess with a bat and we feel they deserve a wider audience.
Our warmest thanks go to Mr. and Mrs. Stephens for a very pleasant evening.

Congratulations to our Secretary, Mrs. Rowland, for a very full, interesting and humorous report of her visit to the, A.G.M. at the Albert Hall - we all enjoyed it immensely. We then welcomed our old friend Mrs. Burnstead, this time demonstrating "cake icing" - her skill with a paper, bag and nozzle we always envy and admire - straight lines, squiggles, squirls, and stars, all to perfection, and so easy.
Mrs. R. Marshall won the competition for five cake varieties, judged by Mrs. Bumstead, but there were only three entries - where, oh where, are those W.I. cooks? Mrs. N. Miles gave a vote of thanks to Mrs. Bumstead. Our Birthday Party in November is to take the form of a Dress Show, Buffet supper and entertainment.

Cricket Club
Although Vice-Presidents, and indeed anybody, are welcome to matches at any time, we made out special invitations for our home match against Woodstock on 3rd June. Tony Knight provided a grand marquee which heightened the festive mood and drinks and cricket teas were provided. Altogether a good idea, we thought, and our V-P's told us they thought so too.
