As the Benefice was vacant for nearly six years a sufficient amount has accumulated in the Dilapidations Fund to cover the cost of painting the whole of the outside of the Vicarage - this, we hope, will be done by the end of the summer; other things will be done graduaily.
Remember the date of Confirmation - 22nd May, at 7 p.m.

SERVICES FOR MAY
Each Sunday - 8 a.m., Holy Communion; 11 a.m. Martins and Sermon; 2.45 p.m., Sunday School; 6.30 p.m., Evensong and Sermon.
On First and Third Sundays in month there will be Service of Holy Communion at 12 noon.
1st May - SS. Philip and James. - 9 a.m., Holy Communion.
22nd May - Confirmation Service, 7 p.m.
30th May - Ascension Day.-9 a.m., Holy Communion; 9.30 a.m., Service for Children; 7.30 p.m., Evening Service.
CONFIRMATION
The Rt. Rev. The Bishop of Dover will hold a Service of Confirmation on Wednesday, 22nd May, at 7 p.m. Make a special note of that time and date and come along to bid "Welcome" to the newly admitted members to the Church.
I hope the bell-ringers can be free to ring a hearty welcome. And on the following Sunday, May 26th, at 8 a.m., the newly confirmed will receive their first Communion; join with them on that important occasion.
ARCHBISHOP'S THANKOFFERING FUND
In his recent appeal for the required sum of £205,000, of which we, in this small Parish of Hartlip, are asked to be responsible for £500 within the next two years, His Grace writes, "For its own sake and for the world's this country must be strong in faith and moral purpose. How shall that be apart from the Christian Faith which has shaped and guided it through the centuries.
