VICAR'S LETTER.

My dear People,

May I call your attention to our Lenten Thursday Services at 7.30 p.m., when the Vicar of Milton Regis is preaching. It is a loss to any loyal Churchman if Lent goes by without one making some extra effort to profit by the solemn season which our Mother Church bids us observe. Lent is meant to be a time of preparation for Easter. Easter, the Queen of Festivals, teaches us the meaning of our life here. "I believe in the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come" states the Creed. Life now should be a preparation for the higher life in store. The wise will see they have the oil of grace in their lamps and so be ready when the Bridegroom comes. This is the message of the Bible, and the message of Christ, the Son of God.

A list of Holy Week Services is, here printed and also those for Easter Day.

Every historic branch of the Church of Christendom has the rule that members should communicate at Easter. Some people, lightly attached to the Church, excommunicate themselves. They thus lose the great blessing promised in the Sacrament of Christ which He bade us offer as continual memorial till He comes. So in your Church's name I bid you welcome to the altar on Easter day to partake of the Bread of Life - the food of Immortality, the pledge of eternal life. If any are unable to come I will gladly come to their homes if they let me know. May you one and all realise the blessing which Easter gives.

Your sincerely,

CECIL G. MUTTER
